Set up
- Claude and ChatGPT: add
https://moonya.ai/mcp as a custom connector, sign in to Moonya in the window that opens, pick the workspace and click Allow. No API key needed. In ChatGPT this currently needs Developer mode, available on paid ChatGPT plans on the web. - Developer tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and others): in Moonya open Settings, AI assistants (MCP), create an API key (up to 10 per workspace) and copy the ready-made configuration for your tool. Send the key as
Authorization: Bearer.

How it works
- Drafts first. Tools that create content make drafts. Publishing happens only after the user approves or schedules a post.
- Confirmation for cost and irreversible actions. Paid tools return the exact credit cost and do nothing until they are called again with
confirm: true after the user agreed. Publishing now, deleting and inbox replies also need confirm: true. Paid calls are idempotent per request_id.
- Long tasks. Carousel and Story drafts take 2 to 4 minutes. The create tools return
accepted with a request_id, and moonya_generation_status returns the draft when it is ready.
- Results in the chat. Slides come back as images, videos as a frame and an MP4 link, calendars and statistics as small tables. Every result ends with suggested next steps.
- Errors. A failed call returns
ok: false with an error_code and a fix in plain words, plus a link when the fix needs the browser.
- Limits. 60 tool calls per minute per connection. At least 60 minutes between posts on the same network and at most 3 posts per day per network. Stories don't count toward these limits.
- Language. Results follow the workspace language (English or Serbian).
Types: Read only reads data. Write changes data in your Moonya workspace. Irreversible cannot be undone, for example publishing or a reply sent to a person. External reaches outside your workspace: it publishes to your social networks, sends messages to other people, or reads a public web page or file you pointed to. Video tools appear when video is enabled for the workspace, and the agency tools only on an all-brands connection.

Ready-made prompts
The server also offers ready-made commands (MCP prompts) such as planning the content week, reviewing waiting drafts, making a post from your text and a monthly report, plus read-only resources for the Brand Brain, drafts, calendar and status.
What needs your approval
Moonya is built so that the assistant prepares and you decide.
- Nothing is published without your approval. New posts and videos are drafts. They go out only after you approve or schedule them, in the chat or in the Moonya app.
- Anything that costs credits asks first. The assistant tells you the exact cost and only continues after you say yes. A repeated request never charges twice.
- Irreversible actions ask first. Publishing right now, deleting a draft or an automation, and replying to a message, comment or review are only done after you confirm.
- Your own photos, scheduled on request. When you ask Moonya to schedule photos you uploaded, that request is your approval, and the posts go straight to the calendar at the times you agreed.
- Posting limits protect your accounts. Moonya keeps at least 60 minutes between posts on the same network and publishes at most 3 posts per day per network. Stories don't count toward these limits.
Your data and privacy
- Only your workspace. The connector works with the Moonya workspace you allow when you sign in: Brand Brain, drafts, calendar, gallery, automations, inbox and analytics. Agency plans can allow all their brands in one connection, and each answer names the brand it is about.
- What the assistant sees. Results you ask for are returned to your chat, for example your drafts or, when you ask, messages and comments from your inbox. Your AI assistant processes them under its own privacy terms.
- What Moonya keeps. Moonya does not read your chat history. For each tool call we log the tool name, the workspace, whether it worked and how long it took, without the content you sent. Actions taken from the chat also appear as notifications in the Moonya app.
- Secure sign-in. The connection uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You sign in on moonya.ai, never in the chat, and Moonya stores only a hashed form of the access token. Access renews automatically and you can revoke it at any time in Moonya under Settings, AI assistants (MCP), or by removing the connector in your assistant.
